*Milkcrate Fam feat. Trife Da God & Termanology - Trife & T

Trife @ Myspace
Termanology @ Myspace

*Swizz Beatz feat. Cassidy - Come & Get Me
One Man Band Man (2007)
How crazy is it that Swizzie is like better than actual rappers at making good rap songs? Cassidy is here too. Swizz's last verse is crazy (And now...)

*Trife Da God - The World Is a Ghetto
They didn't include alot of info with this one, but the important things are that it's Trife Da God and the song is good, so listen to it asshole.

Double Up

*Ed Rock feat. Lee Wilson - Get Inside (prod. J. Cardim)
Hard Body (2007) [[buy d/l]]
Ed Rock is a rapper from around here (Haverhill, MA). He's in the group ST with Termanology. He has a new mixtape out with all beats by J Cardim, this is on it. I don't really like the hook but the verses are smooth
Ed Rock @ Myspace

*Domingo feat. Joell Ortiz - Exactly
The Most Underrated (2007)

Off producer Domingo's album which dropped recently. Joell Ortiz keeps coming with the shit that makes you press rewind, aww man

*J Dilla - Diamonds (prod. Nottz)
You may have heard this already. It's been hot on college radio for a couple weeks. J Dilla apparently has some more posthumous shit coming soon

*Joell Ortiz feat. Saigon & Jadakiss - Hip Hop (Remix)

Been meaning to post this, it's from like a week and a half ago. Jada kills it especially
Joell Ortiz @ Myspace

The Brick (2007)

*Keep On Callin feat. Akon

*Royce Da 5'9 - Down Bottom

Royce hits up the old Ruff Ryders/Cashmoney beat. He has a new mixtape with Premier and Statik Selektah which you can buy here or steal here. I think it's kinda booty though.

*Affiliate feat. Jae Millz and G-Eyez - Hustle Just To Make Bucks
Mr. Piff, Dope & Blow (2007)
My peoples over at Flophouse Records sent this to me. J. Cardim on the beat.
I'm gonna start running polls as of right..now. So vote or die:

Game, Termanology, Lou Armstrong

*Game - Gettin Dollaz
You Know What It Is, vol. 4 (2007)
Intro song off the new Game mixtape, which is for sale as a download on Game's myspace if you're the type of person who would pay for a download. For the rest of us there's this

*Termanology - I Did It (prod. Hi-Tek)
Hood Politics vol. 5 (2007)
Hi-Tek uses the Celebrities "I choose you" sample, which has been flipped in alot of rap songs, but of course his version has its own twist to it since he has his ill drum programming style.
Term @ Myspace

*Lou Armstrong - When's It All Gon End
Street Talk vol. 2 (2007)
Lou Armstrong is the main rapper in a group from Boston called Hitmakerz. This song is getting alot of burn around here
Lou Armstrong @ Myspace

Back on my mack, pimp

Back from WrestleMania. Shawn Michaels, you broke my heart.

*Young Buck feat. TI, Young Jeezy & Pimp C - 4 Kings
Buck The World (2007)

Some shit off Buck's new album. Pimp C just does the hook. Buck refers to the song as "3 Kings" in his verse, which leads me to believe Pimp C did his shit way after

*50 Cent - Straight To The Bank
Curtis SSK (6/19/07)

Dirty version. 50 back to more rapping and less singing. Prod. by Ty Fyffe and Dre. SSK = Shoot, Stab, Kill bonus: *Instrumental

*Jazzy Jeff feat. Peedi Crack - Brand New Funk
This is like a couple weeks old but I kept forgetting to upload it. And here it is

moldy oldies:

Timbaland and Magoo
Welcome To Our World (1997)

*Writin Rhymes
*Up Jumps Da Boogie feat. Aaliyah & Missy Elliot

Awesome album that came out at the end of 97. I got this for Xmas when I was 11 and even as a young bul I knew this was the shit. Going back and listening to it again now only confirms what I always knew. The thing about Timbaland and Magoo that worked was you never wanted to hear either of them rap a full song. Timbaland was in love with the "telephone effect" at this time (cut the bass on your voice, raise the mids) and he was never that great of a rapper, and Magoo of course overdosed on helium in the 80's. But as a duo they balanced each other out, and the album's guest list of Aaliyah, Ginuwine, Missy, etc. helped to smooth it out.

3/28/07

*Sa-Ra Creative Partners feat. Talib Kweli - Feel The Bass
Hollywood Recordings (3/24/07)
Sa-Ra are 3 dudes who do production. I think. I read an article on them once and I still am not sure what they do entirely. Talib Kweli raps the whole thing solo so let's just say that Sa-Ra are producers. Talib Greene takes a momentary break from sucking to not be so bad on this one.

For some reason, they have a Crackspace instead of MySpace

*Evidence (Dilated Peoples) - Down In NYC
The Weatherman (2007)
Evidence usually doesn't do it for me (no Xerxes) but this song is alright with me

*Prodigy - Bang On Em
Return Of The Mac (2007)
Some more shit off P's album.
"Don't ask me why Queenbridge can't stick together /
If you don't know the answer, then you don't know the ghetto"

old school like hungry hungry hippos, it's the oldies:

* Mark Morrison - Return Of The Mack
Return Of The Mack (1997)
Not a rap song obviously, but god damn was this the jam or was this the jam? My SFU goons already know my feelings about this song. Mark Morrison adlibs> Jim Jones adlibs

*Gang Starr feat. Krumb Snatcha - Make Em Pay
Moment Of Truth (1998)
Fun factoid: Krumb Snatcha's verse on this song made him the first unsigned artist to ever get a Hip-Hop Quotable in The Source, before The Source sucked balls and became irrelevant.

nigganom-nom-nometry

*Jae Millz - Respect Me
The Time Is Now (2007)
Whoo-wee. This song had me making the "just smelled some shit" face through the whole thing. Uses the same Bootsy sample as Eazy's "Rather Fuck You"and Fat Joe "Bust @ You." Millz discusses his industry troubles and shit like that, which always makes for the best songs

New Jae Millz XXLmag.com article

*Jay-Z/2pac/Styles P - Throwback (Green Lantern blend)
Sirius Invasion (2007)
Green Lantern blends Jay's "Back in the day" verse, Pac's "Old School", and Styles over the Still Got Love For You/Reminisce beat (which Green has used for blends before - hit the Gmail if you have Nore/Freeway 'Wishing On A Star')

*Timbaland - Oh Timbaland
Shock Value (2007)
The intro to his new disappointing album (cough). "Can't do it like me dog, your kick drum aint got enough bass." I decided I only like Tim rapping when he's talking about beats or money

Oldies: Canibus Spotlight

*Nigganometry
Can-I-Bus (1998)
One of the few high points of his otherwise caca debut album. Canibus makes math fun

*Ice Cream Freestyle
Funkmaster Flex 60 Minutes Of Funk, Vol. 3 (1998)
More math! Canibus rips the "Ice Cream" beat. That Flex CD is the best one he ever did, btw. Too bad I lost the it in The Great Acura Integra Break-In and Burgulary of 2003. I'ma find you fags one day. If one of yous have a link for the whole thing, Gmail it to your old pal why dontcha?

3/23/07

*TI - I'ma Flirt (TI verse ONLY, no T-Pain )
I took the liberty of cutting out T-Pain's god-awful part out of the song. Jesus Christ he is offensive to my ears. I left the intro from Kells but his verse got the axe too. Sorry R-uh, your whole rapping/singing thing isn't doing it for me

*Jay-Z - ASAP freestyle
Green Latern - Sirius Invasion mixtape

It's Kuntry Kaaaang. Shawn Corey raps on the ASAP beat. Do people still buy mixtapes? I dunno about you buls, but I can never wake up early enough to get to the flea market to buy anything.

The great Nahright has the whole mixtape DL here

*Collie Budz feat. Young Buck & Tony Yayo - Come Around (Remix)
I'm not even sure how old/new this is, but it's new to me. Yayo manages to not fuck this up.

Speaking of fucking things up, word on the streets (SOHH) is that he f'd up Jimmy Henchmen's son or something. This song makes me want to dig up the old G-Unit mixtape where Yayo rhymed over "Welcome 2 Jamrock" and kept yelling "Fuck D-Block" during the breaks. One of yous should Gmail that to me

Oldies:
*Lake - Crushed Linen (prod. Alchemist)
41st Side (2001)

If you didn't know, Lake is a rapper who came home after 7 years in the bing in 01. Nozz shouted him out on "Represent" way back in 94. Anyways, when he came home they did this compilation on Landspeed which was all QB artists (except for Nore and Prodigy). It was like QB's Finest with not as good beats. "Crushed Linen" was the shit though. The intro (from Carlito's Way and the horns are from Godfather) is too great. Narcotics narcotics narcotics

Also from 41st Side:
*CNN feat. Lake & Cormega - We Gon Buck (prod. Alchemist)
Not much to say, everyone kills it on this one

Tuesday, March 13, 2007

It's been a long time

Yeah yeah. Out of like 100 new songs last week, there was nothing worth posting. I go thru it so you wouldn't do it after me. Anyway, without further Apu..

*LB feat. AZ - NH to BK
Good Morning America (2007)
Sure are alot of acronyms in that title huh. LB is from around here (Manchester, NH), I ran into hom a couple times. He's a cool fella. Anyway, I think this was produced by DC the Midi Alien but don't quote me on that. Either way, LB does his thing an*Sd AZ is AZ so you know it's good.
LB @ Myspace
Cop it @ UGHH

*Sky Balla feat. Game - California Soul
Shout out to DJ Lgee for hooing this up. Game murks it
Sky Balla official site

*Memphis Bleek feat. Akon - Never Forget Me
I think Memphis rips it. I'm not to keen on the hook though, probably because Akon can't sing.

Oldies:
*
Almighty RSO - Hellbound (RSO Saga pt. 2)
Revenge of Da Badd Boyz (1994)

Almighty RSO was Benzino's first group, but don't let that prevent you from listening to this song, because it's bad ass. I got this tape one time for like 4 bucks, oww. The music video has them all rocking Bruins jerseys

*Kasino feat. The Lox - Men of Respect(1998)

I remember this off a Clue tape (This Is It pt. 2), when Clue still did tapes and "tapes" still meant tapes. You might recall Kasino from "For My Dogs" on DMX's first album. He held his own with the LOX, even though all 3 of them had crazy quotables on this one.

"I'm the nigga that'll come thru and light up an ounce
Yall the faggots that'll talk about me soon as I bounce" - Kiss

"I spit heroin, makin niggas pure dopeheads
I'm like Tony when he went to kill Frank Lopez" - Styles

"I dealt with many hoes, used to pump my fist with Arsenio
Playahatin niggas that used to rap in all the videos" - Sheek

You knowwww?

Rich Boy, Bishop Lamont

*Rich Boy - Let's Get This Paper
Rich Boy (2007)
From Rich Boy's album, which leaked to the internets recently. If you look around you can find the whole thing. I think it kinda sucks though.

*Bishop Lamont - Klansmen
*Bishop Lamont - Last Crusade
N*gger Noize(2007)

You get a double-shot of Bishop Lamont cause this new mixtape of his is fuckin bananas. If you aint know, he is signed to Aftermath, which means his album is gonna be delayed as hell. I was sleeping on this dude but his shit had me rewinding the Winamp. You should peep the full D/L link

Buck and 50 dissing Cam (video)

Young Buck feat. 50 Cent - "Hold On" (video)

Lol at 50 looking like the cat from Clockwork Orange. The song is trash and most of the dissery is performed in talking form at the end of the song, cause that's how 50 rolls.

Make it sound fly to ya

*NORE - Takin Ova (freestyle) (2007)
Nore murks the Khaled/Akon beat

*Intense feat. Trife Da God & Tommy Whispers - It's A Shame (2007)
I don't have alot of info on Intense. Regardless, this shit is hot. You know Trife of Theodore Unit (Ghostface's group for the dummies), and you would remember Tommy Whispers from TMF.
Intense @ MySpace

*Fabolous - Green Lantern Freestyle (2007)
8 minutes long, Fab does the "Kingdom Come", "$ In The Bank", and "Throw Some D's" beats. Little 2 minute interview at the end.

Oldies:

from Goodie Mob - Still Standing (1998)

Crazy album from 1998, what a damn good year that was. The Goodies, along with Outkast, proved the South was more than Booty music. Well at least until 5 years later when it wall went to shit.

*The Experience
Cee-Lo solo joint, discusses his thoughts on calling each other "nigga" on the intro to the album

*Still Standing
Oh man. If you never heard this you are missing out. Cee-Lo ends the album with one of the best verses of all time. Nuff said

My bad for the lack of updates this week. Alot of shit hit the streets (the internet) this week, but most of it sucked balls

Oldies:
*Dead Prez - Be Healthy
Let's Get Free (2000)

Let's Get Free is one of the most solid front-to-back albums ever. They found a way to rap about lentil soup and still make it hot. Prodigy on the outro for absolutely no reason talking .

*Big Noyd feat. Prodigy -All 4 The Luv of the Dough
Only The Strong (2003)

Noyd dropped a slept-on banger of an album back in 03. Him and P slow it down for a bit on this one.

Monday, February 19, 2007

I couldn't help but notice your pain

*Prodigy feat. Un Pacino - 7th Heaven (prod. Alchemist)

Def Jam's How To Be A Player Soundtrack (1997)
Today's oldies are both from the How To Be A Player soundtrack. If you ever see this in the dollar bin, pick that shit up. Of course, everyone remembers Foxy & Dru Hill "Big Bad Mama" on there, but it also featured Redman, Jayo "Just Another Victim" Felony, Lil Cease, Pre-GooglyMoogly Cam'ron, Rick James (!), 2pac, and more.

*Mic Geronimo feat. DMX, Fatal, Cormega, Ja & Jadakiss - The Usual Suspects
This is worth the DL just for DMX's verse, but everyone else comes thru too. Ja (no Rule yet) also delivers very nicely on this shit. Also featured on Mic Geronimo's Vendetta album, a.k.a. the one that they ran Source sticker ads for with Mic's boot in your face.
(That album is the balls, note to self - upload it this week)

*Master P feat. Silkk and Fiend - How To Be A Player
You're probly thinking, "I aint downloading no god damn Master P," and I applaud your caution. But this song is the shit. Even Mush Mouth Silkk's verse isn't so bad. But just the way P's verse started always stuck with me. I use to bring that shit back to the top over and over back in 6th grade. Ah, 6th grade. Bret Hart was still kciking ass, me and this chick Maxann made out in the closet at lunch, and good rap albums were coming out every week. What a year!

Today's oldies spotlight is a double-dose from the ATL group Jim Crow. Polow Da Don, producer of shit like Rich Boy's "Throw Some D's", Ciara "Promise", Fergie "London Bridge" and "Glamorous", etc etc etc., was a member of this group strictly as a rapper (you may recall him murdering Rich Boy on his own shit.. I never slip, I never fall...).

These 2 joints are from their 1999 debut, Crown's Nest

*One Of These Days
*Flaw Boyz feat. Juvenile
